Harlow!!

Hvn't updated in a while....hv been bz bz bz with mission prep and training... =)

Went to the Red Cross Home for the Intellectually Disabled last week... was really apprehensive before we went there.... i'm actually pretty scared of pple who r intellectually disabled coz i felt that they won't be able to control their actions...so they'll drool and stuff...and they'll smell bad... or u dunno wat they'll do 2 u.... Was jus praying 4 od 2 gimme His heart of compassion and love 4 His pple...
When we got there i didn't noe how 2 act ard them....my heart was thumping... i didn't wanna seem like i was treating them as exhibits...so i plastered a big smile on my face and went ard...tried 2 talk 2 them... some of them didn't or cldn't respond.... i didn't noe wat 2 do...so i juz kept smiling.... =)
Most of the gals stayed at the 3rd floor coz that's where the female residents r...talked 2 some of them.....it wasn't ez....but it was gd experience... =)
i ended up in the activity rm (where they undergo physio therapy)...spent 1/2 the time there...hee....think it was escapism...but i tried 2 talk 2 the residents who were there... managed 2 speak 2 the therapist there as well...

Really felt tt my heart's so small u noe....juz wished my heart's bigger...so tt i can give more love 2 the residents...
I actually felt a burden in my heart...had the intention 2 go back 2 do volunteer work...or visit them once a week or smthg...

My Love Laos team (Tham - our leader, Vic - our money person, Jim Jim - the monkey man, Anne, Grace, Joshua and moi) spent quite a bit of time bonding over food...heh... we're so slack u noe! we'll take breaks every 15 mins! haha!
Anyway we'll b leaving on Fri (5th Dec) 4 Laos...do keep us in ur prayers k? Pray tt we'll keep our focus on God, tt we'll learn 2 love one another with God's love, 2 love the Laotians as well... Basically Laos is a closed ctry so we can't proclaim our faith or evangelize in public...so we'll do it thru our actions! =) Really looking 4ward 2 the trip!
