Narnia

Aiyoh!! The Chronicles of Narnia - The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe is so so good!!

Went to watch it with Shin and Mei.. We're probably one of the slower ones to catch it.. But if YOU have yet to watch Narnia, please please do go!!!!

I was so teary throughout the show! It's amazing! It really is! Looking at Aslan and feeling the majesty of our Lord and King, as all of His subjects bow down before Him. Seeing the true meaning of sacrifice - His willingness to take on the consequence of Edmund's sins, being ridiculed and shamed by the White Witch. Him knowing Peter's name and background, just like how God knows each and everyone of His children by name. Aslan counseling Edmund - He is truly our Counselor. How Aslan can be authoritative and gentle, majestic and humble.

Our calling is to be soldiers and warriors for God! We're constantly in battle with the prince of this world, in the spiritual realm. What caught my eye were the shield - representing our faith, and the sword that Peter raised - the word of God.
I was and still am overwhelmed after watching Narnia. Wow!!

I have decided to read the Bible everyday by following the Bible-reading plan. Let's all do it together okie? =)

There was a purpose!!

Yes! There was a purpose!

I was unemployed for the whole of last year... well, not really... I had temp jobs here and there..
As I was saying, I was employed for most of last year because God had a purpose!

I attended quite a few funerals last year and 2 significant ones were my good friend, Alisa's mum's funeral, and Moo's grandfather's funeral.

I was able to be there for them in their time of grief because I was gainfully unemployed. I was able to go down to Alisa's mum's wake and funeral without taking leave from work (what work?) and I was able to spend time with her as she comes to terms with the demise of her mother.

I was also able to go down to Gemas for Moo's grandfather's funeral and spend a few days there talking to his grandma and being there for him and his family.

And because Moo doesn't want to celebrate his birthday out of respect for his grandfather, I could attend the Covenant Service for the very first time!
It was absolutely amazing!! I absolutely know what they mean when people in church say it's good to start the year right. It is!
Eventhough worship was in half-time (hehe..) and the convenant part, where we had to fill in the blanks on the slips of paper with our names, was really scary (the part under "Single Adults" read 'Here I am, send me'), service was fantastic! The food and masala tea from Little India provided so generously by Pastor Rennis and Aunty Amir made it all the sweeter.

Was sharing with Ailing about what I thought was God's purpose for me last year, and she said there's a demand for 'funeral ministry'. Aunty Laura was doing a lot of funerals last year as well.
Okie.. what's my point of mentioning this? Hmm.. I forgot..

Yesterday's dancers' dinner at Peishan's was great! We had loads of pasta with different sauces (ALL made by Miss Chu Peishan herself!), grilled meat, sausages, salad with the most delicious dressing, coconut jelly (from Tiong Bahru market.. gonna go get some soon.. =))... Her 2 dogs are so cute! Especially Ladybird! And Karen's boyfriend, Andy, is really really funny!

I had fun! =)
*Though I feel really bad for not doing anything for Moo.. =P Sorry dude! I'll make it up to you once I get a job okie? =)
