Met Jud by accident on Sunday while browsing alone at Library@Orchard! Went for coffee to catch up a bit because we haven't seen each other since her MPC graduation.

Was talking to her about what I want to do - marketing or PR, and she was saying that she's tired of doing market research and wants to venture into something more meaningful, something that will allow her to touch lives.
That got me thinking about my desire to want to work in the real world. I personally don't want to return to working in church till after I've got some experience working in the secular world. Especially so coz I want to do counselling.

Maybe I should review what I want to do as a career. Actually, I'm not a very ambitious person. Heh.. My primary concern now is to pay the debt I owe to my dad. He'll be turning 54 in July and it won't be very long till he retires, and I want to return him his CPF preferably before he does. Currently, I owe him $18k, and counting, for my uni fees. So basically, I looking for a job, not build up a career. Not very exciting hor? =P

Anyways, am gonna start work at Pico Art (ok ok.. I've heard pretty bad reviews about them so far.. heh) this coming Tuesday as a Project Assistant for 2 months. Hopefully, fingers crossed, they'll like me enough to offer me a perm position to do events management. =) And hopefully, toes crossed, that my precious Sundays won't be burnt!

The Beautiful Wedding

Saturday

Photos courtesy of Sarah Mok's webshots.. :)

Pris and Stephan's wedding is so sweet and touching! You won't believe how many times I teared during the church ceremony!

It was indeed a privilege to be their worship leader. Seeing how God is sovereign and faithful in their relationship really encourages me. The love of God and the fear of the Lord is really exemplified in their love for each other and His people.

Their dinner at Grand Shanghai's great too! The ambience is nice, the food is served in individual portions, music's old school reminiscent of the old Shanghai (also provided by Thmmay, the DJ for the night) and Andrea and Shawn make really good emcees! The couple also did the traditional waltz in their Chinese costumes! The celebration of the unification of a couple who overcame physical, cultural and spiritual boundaries!

Sunday
Had a fantastic lunch with some of my cell girls, and a guy. =) For some reason, Julia and gang won't able to make it for cell lunch, so it was Gayle, Rachel, Beatrice and Reuben. Think it was really divine intervention coz Pastor Stanley, Gayle's dad, spoke to me on Friday, after the tertiary cluster meeting, about the group dynamics within my current cell. The girls weren't motivated to come for cell because they don't feel comfortable, with the other group dominating the discussions (if we had any) during bible study.
Was really glad to be able to spend time talking to the "quieter ones" during lunch! It might sound wierd, but they're actually pretty normal kids! =P Heh.. I totally enjoyed it! (I wonder of they did as well..=)) I found that Gayle and I shared a common love for sweet stuff and she introduced me to Fried Mars Bar. Rachel spoke more during the outing than she had ever before during cell. Beatrice opened up so much! And Reuben is just a really sweet dude.
I've noticed this problem within the cell and have been trying to give more attention to Rachel and group. I don't know how else I can solve this besides splitting the cell and praying like crazy.
I do believe that differences can be overcome. Sounds idealistic, doesn't it?
God, I can't do this alone. I need You!

HASH(0x8e56d8c)
You are a Lily:

You are graceful, gentle, calm, and pure and

perhaps a little shy (though your shyness is

part of your charm). You are a very honorable

person who always wants to do the right

thing. Your calm attitude has a soothing

effect on others.

Symbolism: The lily has long been used as a symbol

of majesty, honor, chastity, and purity of

heart.

Really?

Which Flower are You?
