Hihi!!

Juz got back frm a 3-day staff retreat @ Sentosa....really fun! laughed so much!!

Here's a run down of wat we did these 3 days...feel free 2 skip this part if u want... =)
I'll try 2 summarize as much as possible...

Day 1: Ice breakers @ Agape hall....really fun 2 c Mon Peng dance the Ah-go-go, P. Voncent 2 do the twist, P. Ian do the disco and Aunty Laura geleks so well!! Lunch @ a chinese restaurant @ Sentosa... Dinner @ this fantastic place...can't remember wat ut's called...but woah!! the bread and butter pudding is WOAH!!!! Sat with Aunty Martha, Aunty Helen, Karen and Su Lee...had a gd time! laughed so hard!!! then went 2 c the musical fountain...gave a new nickname 2 Mon Peng - Monkey Mon! hee!

Day 2: Led worship....pretty okie lah...really appreciate their enthusiasm.. =) Sentosa day trip with P. Daniel, Lewis, Aunty Laura, Chee Poh, Aunty Margaret, P. Joseph....pretty fun actually... almost went round the whole island... had dinner and presentation on our day trip...really funny pics frm P. Ian's and Ailing's grp! haha!!

Day 3: Communion @ the chalet and lunch @ Jumbo...and then back 2 work!

Had bible study with Carole 2day as well (almost every Thu actually)...@ Daffodils...started @ 4.30 and ended ard 6.15....then...discovered that we were looked in! both of us were on our way out 2 go 2 the loo (high tide lah!) and realized that glass door was locked! so i called Ailing...she told me 2 call Monkey Mon or goatee man (P. Ian..hee)...called Mon but she was in HV...
and then....Aunty Nancy appeared!!! Thank God! the first song that came 2 mind - Jesus u r so gd, Jesus u r so gd!!! i'll b able 2 sing the song with more conviction now!!!

Was talking 2 Carole...went hm @ ard 7.30....showed my mum the pic i took with AL @ the Underwater World with my fone...i look fat! in fact i look pregnant! mum said i look fat....said that she had already told me that short hair will make me look fatter...u noe in that "i told u so" kinda tone...got irritated...
Anyway i like my new hairstyle... =)

Hv 2 go get my confirmation skirt tmr!!!

Oh! my v gd fren, Jasmin, who's studying in Auckland, NZ, now...is coming back on 22nd Nov!!!!!!! can't wait!! miss her so much!!!! every time i pass by her block @ Ghim Moh...i'll start missing her and i'll always msg her on her mobile...hee..thank God 4 technology... =)

yup..that's all i wanted 2 say...hee...was ecstatic when she told me!!! okie...hee...i'm juz really happy 2 hear tt she's coming back...looking 4ward... =) *grin* *smile* wide grin* *squeal*

was writing ian & katrina waller's bday card....also saw a little gal, abt 3 yrs old, who was wearing a jumper and a pink tank top on the way 2 Jumbo on Wed as well...got reminded of the 2 gals...Jessica, 3, and Stephanie, 6 mths...sigh....
miss them so much!!!!

Had our last confirmation class 2day! gonna get confirmed next Sun (28/09)...u guys muz come okie? Miche, Pris, Rachel, Melissa and Joshua r getting confirmed as well... so excting rite?
2day's lesson was on tithe and offering...spoke 2 me coz i'm a v bad steward of money....and since all of wat we hv belongs 2 God...it's really s/thing tt doesn't honour Him lah...so i've gonna tithe as soon as i get my allowance...otherwise i'll nv get down 2 doing it...

Was supposed 2 go 4 lunch with Ailing and Catherine (this pretty new gal frm UWC)...but went over 2 Moo's place 4 a haircut...feel quite bad abt it coz i hvn't really made any major effort 2 get 2 noe her...but i promised we'll meet up soon... =)

Yup! i did it! i finally got down 2 cutting my hair!! it's really liberating coz it's much shorter that it was (took off abt 5 inches) and my hair feels so much lighter! i've had long hair eversince...i dunno... 1998?...yah...and it's the 1st time after 5 yrs that my hair is this short...
I really like it! thnx Moo! =) looks so Jap...haha...
Wonder how everyone will react 2 it...Hee...

Ate a lot 2day...and Moo's sis kept tickling me...hehe...it's a gd sign tho... =) shows that she likes me...gonna celebrate her bday with her and the family tmr.. .she's born on the 22nd as well! =)

Pretty disappointed tt my parents didn't say anything abt my new hairstyle...but who cares?...i really like it!

Hope 2 get a confirmation skirt tmr or Fri...i hope it's gonna b Bishop John Chew... =)

Worship Party 19/09/03

The worship party yest (19/09/03) was great!!!
Was held @ Eugene's office...he's one of the pple in Ailing's Tuesday Grp (yah...tt's the name of their grp...so orig hor...hee...sorrie Ailing!)...anyway it's a designing firm @ Mohd Sultan Rd above Rush... the office is super cool! am not great with description so will spare the details...but trust me it's cool! can ask Tham, Yuen and Jim Jim...Pris and Stefan were there as well...

The worship was really liberating!! we were encouraged 2 juz worship God freely...2 put down any self-consciousness...and 2 juz worship God in our own way...we cld stand or kneel or sit or lift our hands or dance or sing or clap....basically anything...pple were going with the flow...Jim Jim syas that it feels like Womad.. =)
Coz there were playing the guitar, the Tambla (some Indian drums tt James was playing) and some other drum tt George (this other guy frm Ailing's grp) was playing... it was juz liberating....
The worship leader, Kelvin, was juz commenting that we're like we're @ the upper rm...above the pubs and stuff...

The pple were really nice...and the're testimonies were like Wow!!! was talking 2 their grp leader Mark, who's an architect...he was telling me more abt the pple grp...
They're pretty cool! all in2 the Arts...Ronald's a photographer apprentice, George is a dancer, Eugene and Moose r designers, Kelvin works @ the Substation (i think)...yah...
Kelvin's wife, Brooke, is frm New Jersy and she's my age (23)...and she's in2 her last trimester of her pregnancy....she's got 4 more weeks b4 she pops....makes me wanna hv a baby 2... =)

The worship thing started @ 9pm and went all the way till 1+ in the morning...there were makan breaks in betw of coz...
Oh! this German gal who's doing DTS with Su Lene was there as well...looks like a model...tall, slim, fantastic voice (sounds like Steven's kinda gal.. =p).. but seriously...her voice is WOAH!!!

Yuen, Tham, Jim Jim and I went 2 Breeko's 4 supper...then went back @ ard 3+....tiring!!...
But it was gd...maybe we shld hv this kind of worship sometime in Heartbeat...wat say u? =)

Staff Devotion 18/09/03

Staff devotion on Thu was really amazing!
P. Rennis started by asking us wat will complete our joy at this pt in our lives...so i jotted down stuff like seeing my family and frens saved, seeing my cousins grow in the Lord, finding a husband (haha!) and seeing tt God is pleased with me...
But in Psalm 16:5-6 (New American Standard version), it says that the Lord is my allotted portion...He is our complete inheritance...
When David was writing this, he was being disinherted coz Sual was out 2 kill him...

1 Sam 26:9 also syas that it is possible tt pple wld wanna take away our share of inheritance...disinheritance (missing pieces in our lives) might b God's way of showing us our true inheritance, which is in God...
God teaches us 2 hunger and thirst 4 Him...

Psalm 16:2 syas that even the capacity 2 enjoy gd things comes frm the Lord...

Luke 7:11-17...the widow was disinherited from her husband and she is now disinherited from her son...the Lord cares abt our disinheritance...He luvs us perfectly....He gave the son back 2 the widow...
Therefore...accept Him as our complete inheritance...

Numbers 18:20 syas that our future is the Lord and our inheritance is the Lord....and it is well with my soul...

Isaiah 49:14-18 is God's promise that He remembers us forever...that we're engraved on His hands....how wonderful is that? =) it is a promise 2 us...

Met my baptism sponsor, Mon Peng, 4 lunch @ KFC @ Clementi...
Had an interesting talk abt tattoos and the tension betw Muslims and Christians...

The conversation was interesting... =) am glad! learnt many things 2day...

my off day yest...so went 2 c my god-niece...hvn't seen her in a month...
how she has grown!! i bought her a dress meant for 6-9 mth old babies...but my godbro said that she's already wearing clothes meant for 12-18 mth olds...sigh...dunno whether she'll b able 2 fit in2 it....juz msged her mum 2 ask...

went hm in time 2 hv dinner with my family coz i hvn't been spending time with them...
But my dad had 2 irritate me...
coz i happened 2 tell my mum that i'll b getting confirmed on the 28th...and mum asked wat benefits will i gain after i'm confirmed...told her that i'll b a member of the church as well as the Anglican Diocese in S'pore...she nv knew i was Anglican...
So she told my dad who wantd 2 noe wat "Anglican" is in Chinese...told him i didn't noe but will find out and get back 2 him...he was like how come u dunno these things...and then went on saying smthg abt Buddhism...can't rem exactly wat he said...then i was like how the he heck wld i noe u noe! y did he automatically assume that i wld noe! i attend the English svc...y wld i noe what "Anglican" is in Chinese?!

Next he said that in some churches pple look like they're possessed when they're praying...like tiao dang u noe...like they're being possessed by some diety coz they're b crying and jumping ard...he said that sometimes they'll get so outta control that they need pple ard them 2 restrain them...i got really agitated and said that they're not possessed!! not like tiao dang!! wah lao! how can u compare being moved by the Holy Spirit 2 tiao dang??!!

He's attacking wat i believe in and i'm trying 2 defend it...
Was talking 2 P. Ian and he said that there is no need 2 defend God...He's gdness can b seen thru us and out actions...he said b gentle and try 2 c where my dad is coming frm...sigh....it's so tough!
Mum was v gd abt it tho...she's more open than dad...dad id juz trying 2 impose his own ideas on me...

That was b4 the food came....when we started eating things went back 2 normal...

Co-led worship with Ailing 2day... aaaahhhh!!! i screwed up! my voice broke when i was supposed 2 start Our Heart....sigh...
but it was a gd experience nevertheless... =) God was indeed moving 2day and I was so proud of Shin Yee and Huiling who came up 2 b prayed 4... =)
and it's really encouraging 2 c Huiyi and Shin Hui serving in church @ the Discovery Camp on Fri..hee...
Oh! Tracy, my cousin, came 4 service 2day! hvn't seen her in mths!! didn't manage 2 catch up with her tho..will do when the hols come..

Went 2 meet Moo and his sis in town after confirmation class 2day... was fun! primarily 2 buy her bday pressies...her bday's next Mon (22/09) so we went 2 get her pressies...i bought her a Sigg pooh bear bottle and Moo got her some stuff frm OP...
she's v cute! kept tickling me...
had a fulfilling lunch @ Breeks (yum yum! really loaded with carbo as well..sigh...was pretty gd yest when i went back on the low carbo diet...until Steven offered me bread...i took a bite and then...uh-oh...it's carbo!!! but he says it's gd carbo so...yah...he's the health freak... =p oops! sorrie Steve!
actually i wasn't that gd yest...had char siew rice...nvm...dun think u guys came 2 read my entries 2 c what i ate yest rite? =)
and then we had coffee and cheesecake brownie @ coffee bean....nt immediately after lunch lah!...aaaaahhhh!!!! bui si ah!!!! sinful!! will try harder tmr....muz resist temptations!!

woke up @ 830am this morning so didn't turn up 4 the prayer meeting this morning....it's 2 early anyway.... an unearthly hr of 730am!!!

went 4 cell @ 3pm...was pretty gd coz 2day' grp was smaller so we got 2 share then break up in2 grps 2 pray...hvn't done it in a long long time... so i's pretty gd... =)
Was grped with Xiaohui, Em and Youya...we prayed 4 a pretty long time...the Holy Spirit was definitely moving and it felt really gd juz coming 2 God and giving thanks and juz praying 4 one another.... =)

Then dinner @ red bricks coffeeshop...it's the one we went last week...the one where we had fish head curry... had dinner with Pris, Stefan and Steve...
Am really glad that eventho Stefan is pretty new 2 the grp he's really chatty and friendly...
after dinner Steve needed 2 buy slippers so we went jalan jalan @ Holland V...bumped in2 Klem...started chatting outside this new Chinese restaurant...
and i met my sec sch classmates as well! really happy 2 c them after such a long time...exchanged numbers and chatted 4 a while... =)

Think God spoke 2 me again on Thur during staff devotion...Justin was leading worship and he was juz praying and all i remembered was him saying "reaching the world in need of christ"... and as i was praying i thot i saw the word Laos....hm....is God telling 2 go 2 Laos in Dec?.... but i really wanna go 2 Philippines coz we'll get 2 do street e with drama and puppetry n hold youth concerts... so fun rite? not that i'm big on street e but it'll b fun juz doing dramas and holding youth concerts...
Guess it's a conflict again...betw wat God wants and wat i want...
need 2 pray 4 confirmation and yah...will trust and obey...coz God's plan is 2 prosper us....and no matter wat He'll carry us thru....

Learnt during staff devotion that the analogy of an eagle is often used in the bible coz it's exactly wat God does 2 us...
baby eagles started off with juz sitting in the nest and when they're hungry they'll juz hv 2 open their mouths and the mummy eagle will feed them....
but as they grow bigger and r ready 2 fly, the mummy eagle will juz shake the nest real hard so that the kids will fall out and learn how 2 fly...
the special thing is that the baby eagles will not die...the mummy eagle will always b watching them and will catch them when they can't fly and head southwards...

That's how God is with us....He'll feed us when we're still young Christians and when He noes that we're ready he'll give our nest (comfort zone) a nice shake...but we'll not die coz He'll b watching and will catch us when we fall...He has promised that He'll nv forsake us...that's how amazing God is!

Another revelation is that no matter how far u stray away frm the path that God wants u 2 go, He'll steer u back 2 where u're intended 2 go/do....
Sometimes tho,...when He's fed up He'll juz pick u up and plop u down 2 the path that He has planned 4 u....which was exactly wat He did 2 me....
I was so far away frm Him and frm wat He has in mind 4 me (despite me going 4 cell and being in the worship min) and one day He juz decided that enuf was enuf and picked me up frm where i was and put me 2 where He wants me 2 go...that was when i was convicted 2 join Tribute....

Had a pretty fruitful time doing bible study with Carole yest as well...rite Carole? i learnt as i prepared....
the realization that prayer is a conversation betw us and God is pretty enlightening.... i was like...oh.....yah....conversation = 2-way....so we can't juz do all the talking and then end the prayer with an Amen....we gotta allow God 2 speak 2 us as well as listen 2 wat God is telling us....
yah...it's quite duh lah....heh....

2day was quite fun coz got 2 c Yuen in a tortise suit!!! hahahahahaha!!!! it's hilarious!! the suit's spongey so it's v huggable...hehe....
can u juz imagine Yuen in a grean leotard and a tortise suit?? hahahahhaahhahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!

2day wasn't v productive lah..heh...i was juz 2 kaypoh and kept going down 2 the sanctuary 2 c the kids @ the Discovery Camp....
Pearlyn Sunshine was so sweet! she gave me a hug frm behind... =)

Had worship prac...was pretty gd...despite being called monkey....it's all Jeremy's fault! kept calling me monkey...dunno wat gave him the idea that i'm a monkey.... =p
pretty stressed abt worship coz am gonna co-lead with Ailing and God told her when we were preparing the songs 4 worship that He will give the word 2 me....fact is i didn't really pray abt the songs and wasn't sure i heard God...haha... now u noe Ailing... heh...
yah...but thot God was talking abt the "world in need of Christ"...abt reaching 2 the lost...yah...

sorrie...am still finding me getting excited abt missions a bit strange...heh...

Went ga-ga over Yong Xiang as well...he's this guy who's way 2 young 4 me...J2 @ SAJC...but he's super cute! the camera really luvs him...v photogenic... =) Moo was showing me his pics lah....yah... *drool drool*
he's not juz a pretty face...he's talented as well...plays the clarinet in SA band, writes his own songs and has a great singing voice!
