So many things to say.. So le-che to type..
I have to get this off my chest. Never thought I'd sound like one of the loonies on TV.. but I have to say it...
THE END IS NEAR!!
The tsunami, Hurricane Katrina, Hurricane Wilma (who came up with these names anyway??), the earthquakes - these are only the beginning of the birth pains. These are not merely opportunities for us to be a blessing to the disaster-hit places. These are also opportunities to share the Gospel to them. Thousands of people are dying each and every day without the knowledge of Jesus' saving grace. Now, with all these calamities, we would have to expedite our process of evangelism. Some may attribute this to the monsoon or platonic movements, but we can't deny the fact that the fulfilment of biblical prophesies is happening right before our eyes.
"Turn to me and be saved,
all you ends of the earth;
for I am God, and there is no other."
Isaiah 45:22 (NIV)

Rosa Parks, the mother of civil rights, passed away at the age of 92 yesterday. She was, and I believe she'll always be, an inspiration to the black community in America - to stand up for their rights as a citizen in the Land of the Free.
There was even a movie made about her. That was actually the first time I've heard of this amazing lady. She was the bold seamstress who refused to give up her seat on the bus in 1955, when the buses were separated into 2 sections - the front part for white passangers only, and the back portion for black passengers only. She was jailed and fined US$14. Rev. Martin Luther King Jr followed in her footsteps by campaigning for civil rights for the African-American community.
For more information on Rosa Parks, you can check out this article.

Me: Hello?
Her: Hi June. This is jo-ann, P****'s sister.
Me: Yes?
Her: My sister hasn't been herself these days. This has nothing to do with her ok. Sorry ah, I want to say some things to you which may sound very harsh.
(What the nerve!)
Her: What's this about calling my sister a flirt and forwarding the emails to your friends?
Me: Jo-ann, in the first place, this is between the two of us, so I advise you to keep out. Secondly, I forwarded the emails to Alisa and Saion because they are our friends whom your sister has gone complaining to, and Roy's our leader.
Her: Ok. I'm very defensive of my sister and there are things I want to say to you that are very harsh. I read her diary and found out about some stuff....
Me: Jo-ann, I'm actually very busy right now (ya.. busy talking to Moo.. =P) and let me tell you one more time. It's between the two of us, so keep out of this.
Her: Ok. See you.
Me: Bye.
*Click. Too.....Too.....*
Nothing better to do after PSLE is it?
Dear Jo-ann,
There are things that you're too young to understand. Things that happened in school that you don't have to know in order not to tarnish your good impression of your sister. And it's rude to be reading her diary. Your sister shouldn't be leaving her diary lying around if she doesn't want anyone to read it (unless she does...since she craves the attention). I understandthat you're being protective over your sister. I like you too much to get you involved.
-June-
Sending the email to Hum had been the most liberating thing I have ever done. My close friends can tell you that they've never ever seen me so pissed off before. I'm also never one to say such stinging things to anyone in their face. I've have been pushed beyond my patience limit this time. It's my fault for taking so long to tell her off.
Volcano June has exploded.
Am still contemplating whether I should post the emails here.... *evil wink*

Watching "The Golden Girls" makes me thankful that this Hum thingy is not childish at all. I mean, they're like a 100, and the problems thay deal with sound like mine alright.. =P

Myanmar Memories
The link? Myanmar!
Had pork curry for dinner just now. Guess everyone's afraid of catching the bird-flu and avoid chicken altogether. Brought back memories of the time spent in Yangon. =) The pork curry, not the bird-flu.
Made a date with Terence last week to talk to him online today. It's was great! Shared with him about the Hum saga. Said she emailed him to ask him to get in touch with Meju. Asked me whether I knew she still misses him. I have no idea why when she said she's being very careful around guys at this point in her life!
Anyway, happi thots, happi thots. It was great to talk to Terry after such a long time! The last time I saw him was in Yangon about 9 months ago. It's so refreshing! He's like, what, 22? And he's such a man of faith! He's just so encouraging and faithful! And so willing to serve! He always remembers to keep me in prayer. Such a sweet boy!
Miss those guys back in Yangon so much! Terry... Joey... Bhai... Veron...George... Cindy... Naw... Meju... Thar Ji...
Well, looking forward to see him online tomorrow... =)

Bittersweet Symphony
Yesterday's junior cluster barbecue was fun! Loads of marshmallows and people-dunking after that. Heh.. It's tradition! =)
Jimmy put up a strong fight - a full 5 minutes of struggling before Kwang How and gang managed to drag him to the pool. =P
Today's service was...different..=) Leaders were asked to go to the front to be prayed for by the youths whom we're serving anhd then the leaders can pray for those who rededicated themselves to serve the community. It was a touching time of prayer when my cell kids came up to pray for me. I didn't expect it though, since I haven't been the best cell leader. It felt really good. =) Though I couldn't really hear what Debbie was praying. =P Moses and gang were a bit taken aback when they saw me all teary. Haha. Then I prayed for the cell to grow spiritually and to learn to love one another in His love. Julia teared. And it was the first time I actually felt that the cell has started bonding.. 10 months of hard work hasn't gone down the drain after all. =) Thank God for his grace!

Monkey Clan
Later in the afternoon... I was kinda disappointed at the outcome coz I really felt that he's capable of doing better. But I just want him to be happy. Wanted to give him a big hug. He seemed indifferent. I will try my very best to cheer him up (I'm really bad at this).

Re: The Clarification
She completely denied sending all the Web SMSes, making me sound like a hallucinating lunatic! If Alisa wasn't present when she was SMSing me one day, she would have thought that I was making everything up as well!
Hum's status - "Accused-turned-Victim"
June's status - "Victim-turned-Accused"
She sounded so innocent and remorseful in her reply! She almost made me sound like a bitch sending her such a harsh email! I've never verbalized my unhappiness in such a blunt way before. I didn't even bother to mince my words or try to sound diplomatic coz I've had enough of her nonsense.
I know I have to learn to forgive. But I'm afraid of being used by her again. I guess it'll take time and I don't even know whether things will go back to what it was before.
Oh man! i'm 25 for goodness sake! This thing sounds so juvenile!!
DAD, please take over! Help me learn how to forgive and be gracious, just like how You're gracious and merciful. Please give me wisdom in my future interactions with her. Give her wisdom so that she will know what to do in her relationships with guys. I pray for more friends (other than me) to come alongside her to help her with her struggles in this area. I pray for patience for myself. Help me to love her with Your love.
In Your most precious and mighty Name I pray, AMEN!
I finally sent "The Clarification" to Miss Hum Li. 8 points on why I'm unhappy with her.

Yesterday's surprise birthday dinner for Ailing was really good! It was held at Hu Cui Shanghainese Restaurant at Taka. Almost everyone was there - Clem, Jim, Thammy, Andrea (who organized it. Thanks gal!), Jen, Pris, Stephan, Dudley, Cecilia, Michael, James and our birthday girl, Ailing. =)
Good food, great ambience, excellent company and a faithful and inspiring youth leader and pastoral worker turning 3-0. I thought it was great that we all got to mingle and talk and laugh eventhough there were 13 of us. Am really excited to see the progress in Pris' and Stephan's wedding preparations. They've got the most adorable wedding invitations!
Glad that you had fun, Ailing! God is generous with his blessings, isn't He? =)
Thammy has nicely uploaded the pictures here, so please do check them out. =)

My only consolation: 1 hour of dance tomorrow..

More ranting....
"Hey june. I'm trying my best to restore our friendship. I really am confused of why you're not happy with me. Please call me back. I need a clarification."
I shall title my email to her "The Clarification". =)
Ranting.....
I was running and listening to the radio just now when I was stopped by a middle-aged woman at the bus stop. She spoke in Mandarin and asked whether I was staying around here. And then..... she asked whether I want to lose weight and started to take something out of her bag.. I said no and continue my run..What the...??!!
And what's with all these programs getting people to lose weight? Mediacorp has been coming up with programs sponsored by Jean Yip, Expressions, Mary Chia and what not, that invites real women to show the whole of
Singapore their cellulite and thunder thighs, and go through the whole exercise regime, dieting and fat-busting treatments at the beauty salons. Then, they had Project Slim ( which I went auditioning for.. so sue me.. =P) and Villa Wellness. Now, there's this program on Channel News Asia called Obesity Olympics featuring obese families going through hell to lose weight, so that they can... get this.. run a mile-long race or some crap like that at some sports event in the US.
HUH?? Why??

Congratulations!!!!!!
Photo taken with THE next Super Host! Congrats bro! He went for the audition today and he got into the semi-finals!! Yeah!!I was already day-dreaming during sermon just now.. How they'll announce that Moo is the Grand Finals winner.. how he'll react and how his fans and family will react... and how he'll be holding a huge bouquet of flowers.. and how he'll be so overjoyed that he'll be speechless.. hahaha..
I screamed so loudly when he told me the good news when I called him after dance class today! Seems like the people around him are more excited about it than he is.. heh..
On the downside, he'll have lesser time for me once he's more involved in the competition when he gets to the finals (fingers crossed! =)).. Sigh.. no more morning, mid-day and late night phone calls..
Don't you dare forget me when you get famous ok? Or else... =P

Can I whine???
Today didn't start very well...
First, I got an SMS from Hum's sister.. lil P. 6 sister, mind you.. Says "hi june! jo-****, hum's sis, here.. im aware of the barrier betwen the two of you okay.. but my sis did NOT tell me about it.. she just seemed so down and all.. and i found out la.. but, care to tell me what happened?"
What the heck is she trying to do??? Accused-turned-victim is it?
Never mind.. So I got ready to go for dance class.. Left the house at 10.30.. then it started raining really heavily so I decided to cab it.. 45 mins and many many many swear words later, there was still no cab and so I didn't turn up for dance today.. Sigh....
[Thanks Moo, for bearing with my cursing and whining.. =P]
Plus.. my mudder is in 1 of her crazy moods again...
But dinner with the NUS cell was great though! Nice nice food at this seafood restaurant near Sunset Way... Nice nice cake later at Jelita's O'Brien's.. =) Happie happie!
I feel totally inadequate to lead people into worship or to lead a cell.
My own life is so messed up man! I've got unforgiveness in heart... with Hum, with my mum... I totally haven't been a good testimony to my family and friends...
I suck! I'm really not worthy to worship the Holy God... nor am I worthy to be a youth leader.. less I bring them astray..
Argh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Trigger Happie Part II

Trigger Happie... =)
Was at her wake just now. One could never truly understand the feeling of losing a mother... at least I couldn't. I can only imagine the pain of seeing your mother suffer for the past 20 years, having to send her to a nursing home not because you want to but because you were unable to take care of her due to your need to work, having no time to visit your mum because you're working so hard so that she can have a better life, having to make trips to and from the hospital and the nursing home, having to worry about soaring hospital bills, having to see your mother waste away in her last days.... One can only imagine...
Alisa, you have always been so strong.. You never faltered and only fixed your eyes on Jesus.. Your mum's demise was unexpected but Dad's timing is always perfect. We can rejoice because she is in eternal bliss with our Father. She will never have to suffer.
Be strong! I'll be here for you...

So Funky!

I went for my first dance class ever! Actually no... I did ballet for some kindergarten celebration thingy (don't laugh!! Ok.. So I look ridiculous in a pink tu-tu.. Round and pink.. Sound like something you know? =P)
So anyway, I went for a hip-hop dance class at St. James' Church with Amanda, Karen, Angie and Wendy.. =) They all could dance and I like the only beginner amongst the experts! Cept for 1 "auntie", I am the other clueless one in class.
Teacher's this guy called Yutaki.. Reminds me of Moo though.. Don't know why.. heh..
He looks just like a dancer (duh!), posture and all. He made us do 30 minutes of warming-up. I was perspiring like a pig 10 minutes into the warm-up already! There is this difficult stunt that I couldn't do coz my calf muscles are too hard.. Sigh.. So embarrassing! The choreo part was fun though. =)
My tummy and my arms and my legs are aching from all that exercise today!! Good stuff! Looking forward to next week's class!
More power! =) Yo yo yo..

Intriguing and disturbing at the same time. Made me wanna go online to find out more about Marquis de Sade.
It's kinda scary how de Sade's writing distracted a priest's plan to save his soul. I mean, I understand de Sade's desire to go against societal norms and religious principles. Scary, isn't it? I actually find his writings really fascinating - how he writes about the pain of love and the love for pain.
This is a play that discusses the role of the artist, and the right to create no matter what the circumstances. It has a magnetic appeal that keeps the audience captivated throughout the play. Even after I came out of the theatre, I was lost for words. I was so intrigued by the whole presenation of the play - the mise-en-scene, the sound, the lighting, the blocking, the costumes, the script... It was great!
It somehow made me think about how the deil can make us fall (there was a scene that protrays the priest succumbing to lust with the devil disguised as the Marquis delighting in his fall) and how we should always draw strength from God because we can't do it with our own strength. Also what I would do if I was in the priest's position - he had tried to talk the Marquis into turning back to God, taking away his writing instruments (his quills, paper, bedsheets, curtains, clothes), killing him ultimately when he took away his creativity (his brain)..
It's a thinking play.. Am still thinking about it after a week and a half...
4/5 stars.. =)
*Ain't very coherent..wrting this at 2.30 in the morning.. but can;t sleep.. what to do? =)
Yet Another Strange Song...

Heard this on Perfect 10 just now.. Wierd....
Watching Punk'd on MTV with Ashton Kutcher
Reminded me of my handsome uncle working at the butcher
He's oh-so slim and trim
The man is not a glutton
But he can't find a wife because he smells like muttonMutton...(X6)
Smells like mutton...
He's lonely and confused
He has an empty heart
He's suave and he's hygenic
He never popped a fart
In his life...In his life...
Everyday he wishes all the girls would touch his button
He tries so hard to talk to them
It even led a slutton
Mutton...(X6)
Led a slutton...
He tries so hard to change his ways
14 times a day he bathes
But no matter how long he keeps on scrubbing
The man would always smells, smells likeMutton...(X6)
Smells like mutton...
One day he met a girl
She said her name was Keith
Her hair was gold, her breasts were big with shiny perfect teeth
She loved the smell of all raw meat like fish and pork and beef
But this girl will be his downfall
His one and only grief
His one true love
This nice female
Escaped just now
From Punggol Jail
This woman he sawAs his wife
Was brandishing a kitchen knife
Brandishing a kitchen knife(oh...)
She jumped right up and my uncle fled
From all the gaping wounds he bleed
He passed away through loss of blood
Because of all the cuttings
And this ends, a tragic tale
Of Uncle Mutton
Of Uncle Mutton
Of Uncle Mutton
Of Uncle Mutton...

I - AM - A - LOSER

So I decided to go down to Tracy's place to tan right.. Didn't get to do it yesterday coz of the pouring rain..
I had planned to tan for 2 hours but I couldn't stand the heat and so I only spent an hour tanning. When I get up from the chair, I felt woozy and nauseous. I struggled to put on my clothes and went to the vending machine to get a drink. Didn't have any coins cept for a dollar coin so get a Coke instead of good ol' mineral water. Big mistake!
I was seeing patches of light and my walk was unsteady as I tried to walk to the ladies room to puke. I felt like vomiting, my stomach was queasy and my head was spinning. I slumped on the beach and slept for a while.
I HAD A HEAT STROKE WHILE TRYING TO TAN! HAVE YOU EVER HEARD OF A BIGGER LOSER?
Wah lao! I felt like such a loser! Sun-bathing's supposed to be a relaxing activity and I still managed to get a heat stroke nua-ing in the sun!
The last time I remembered having a heat stroke was in secondary school, after hours of marching in the sun when I was in the school band. Sigh..
Who would have thought?

Dear Hum,
What does it take for you to get it in your dense skull that your SMSes and calls are not welcomed?
It irks me that you can't say all you want in as few SMSes as possible. StarHub does give you a limit of 147 characters per SMS you know.
It irks me that you are like a leech that only falls off after it has its fill.
It irks me that you persisted in calling me today eventhough I didn't want to answer your calls (I was expecting Jasmin to call and was rudely shocked to hear your voice. I didn't answer your calls subsequently. You remind me of Tun Tun! He, too, kept calling and calling eventhough I didn't respond. Don't you get it?)
It irks me that i may be the only one that you're irking!
Irked,
June

She'll be back in Dec or Jan! Can't wait!!
BTW,
Dear Hum,
I am really not looking forward to your return. And I think your plan to surprise everyone is totally ridiculous! It's only for your own benefit! You just want to see the surprised faces of people and see how much you're missed and all! The truth is - you're not!
Whatever gave you the idea that everyone back here is looking forward to you coming back to Singapore? Obviously nothing has changed. The course has not transformed you at all. You still sound schizo to me. Your emails rant about how God has touched you and how much you want to follow Him, while your SMSs to me revolve around one subject - guys.
You mean all you can talk to me about is how many guys like you and how they come in all shapes and sizes? How you want to introduce them to me coz you don't click, or coz they don't have a sense of humour, or coz they are fat and funny, like me?
Get a life, gal! Seriously!
Stop living in your own bubble! Stop thinking that everything revolves around you! It freaking doesn't, alright!
Frustrated,
June

Have decided to "be a (wo)man, do the right thing" after worship prac last Fri and greeted mum when I got home.. I have relented! Sigh...
Was woken up this morning at 9 by the beeping coming from my mobile.. read the message from an unfamiliar number: "Hey june, hope u received my email rdg the interview tdy at 1pm? Thks"
Aaahhh!!! What interview?? I've been so busy with H.U.M that I've forgotten to check my emails... turned out that the message was from Evelyn, GM of Intergrity Media Singapore.. I went down for the 1st interview abt a week ago for the Sales and Admin Asst position..
Requested to meet her tomorrow instead.. it'll be too convenient anyway to get from Kallang to Dover and am meeting Ling at 3pm to prep for the LAST night of H.U.M.. Yeah!
On a totally random note:
I MISS JASMIN!!!!!!!!!!!!
I do.. I really do.. I miss my best friend, who's all the way in Auckland, NZ..
I have a sudden urge to go see her and give her a BIG hug and talk to her and be there for her and go for coffees with her....
We only get to talk twice a year.. on her birthday and on mine.. heh.. reason being we both can't afford to spend too much time on the phone (expensive you know.. especially on her side..)... and we're both busy with our own stuff (she's definitely busier than me.. =P From her uni days till now.. even more so since she just started work..)
I think I'm gonna call her tomorrow.. =)

Local kids are just really bratty compared to foreign ones.. although my Taiwanese kids drove me up the wall (one of which got called f***ing a****** by moi..haha..)
My Jap and Korean students were really good though.. I especially enjoyed my time with the Korean kids.. they're so cute!!
Honestly, I'm scared... I totally freak out at the thought of teaching local secondary school kids.. I'm insecure.. really insecure..
Pressure's on.. =)
(no choice..got a pair of SAF NBs.. so muz use lor...)
A self-confessed hard-core non-believer of solo-cising has found jogging and brisk-walking to be extremely therapeutic..and a great way 2 release tension and stress..
Believe me.. people DO get stressed even if they're gainfully unemployed..
Have also fallen terribly sick..stuffy nose and all.. after 4 whole days of exercise! Just when I decide to get my butt off the couch and do something meaningful in my life.. this happens! Do you know how many hurdles I have to cross? Things like what other people might think seeing a fat girl jogging past them (the tremors felt by many might be coming from Bukit Batok and not Nias..), stares from wierd Bangla workers.. Uninvited guests following me back home.. (it is the 7th month, you know..)
Isn't exercise supposed to strengthen one's immune system or crap like that???
Anyway, mummy dearest hasn't been very encouraging..
Not that she doesn't know that I've been trying to lose weight and have been working out.. she's (un)intentionally been harping on how fat I am and how much weight I've gained recently..
And how I should lose some weight, less I look like a married woman..
Also she's been reminding me about how I would be a mother of a child at my age if I'm lucky.. just 'cause she became a mother at 23..
In order to make a statement, I went on a hunger strike.. for a day..
I simply refuse to eat anything she has cooked or bought..
Childish? I know.. I guess pride has gotten the best of me.. and having inherited my stubborness from you-know-who.. let's see how far we can go..
I felt trapped in my own house! I had to get out! I so want to move out but since I'm not working, it's out of the question..
It felt so good to be out of the house today!
Alas, I succumbed to temptation at Shin's place... Forgot all about the statement I was trying to make and ate a big bowl of laksa..amongst other edibles... that have been painstakingly prepared by my 3rd aunt and the maid to please the guests' palates.. Sigh... TOTAL GUILT!
I haven't been the most emotionally stable person these past few months...
My mum's driving me mad! Or maybe it's just me.. stressing myself.. about the job... about my weight... about how almost everyone I know is engaged or married..
I think I need to see a shrink...
Any volunteers? =)

Man...my grandma has stuff from eons ago... she still has the tumbler she used when I was a tiny (yes..i was tiny b4..) babe.. haha..Moo wld noe.. =P
Grandma told him my lifestory in the 2 hours or so that we were at the hospital visiting grand-dad..hehe..
And the bedsheets my cousin Shin Hui (who's 17 btw) used to bring to playgroup..like many many yrs ago..
She's got like knicks and knacks from yester-year tt she's unwilling to throw out coz they're pretty.. *slaps head*
And tons of clothes that i've nv seen her in...
And the same make-up stuff that I used to play dress-up in when I was a child... and I'm 25!!
There're also countless of plastic bottles - mineral water bottles, drink bottles, medicine bottles in the kitchen... 1 for every occasion - when she doesn't need 2 much water, when her handbag's 2 small, when she's really thirsty, when she's feeling cute... sigh...
But I did enjoy dinner with my grandparents... simple fare of satay and durians.. hehe...
Grand-dad seems really happi that we got durians.. he loves them... says they make him move his bowels more often... Opps!! 2 much information....
I really enjoy speaking they language.. it's a different kind of Cantonese.. frm a different part of Guangdong (DUH!).. a language that grand-dad insists on speaking to the grandchildren..
it's a beautiful language... which will prob die out after we have our own families... SAD...
It was a strange feeling... we're not very close to grand-dad but it was heart-breaking to hear tt grand-dad wanted to pass on in the house they've been living in most of their lives..
I have thot abt it.. I thot i'll be sadder when grandma dies... i guess i can't bear to have grand-dad leave us as well...
My.. isn't this entry random...

Stalker by Goldfinger
She calls me on the phone hoping that I'm home (and that I'm all alone)
But when I say, "Hello," I only hear dial tone
She thinks that I'm her own
Outside my window she krept
Watching my every step
Oh Oh Oh
She's following me
Oh Oh Oh she's out of her tree
Oh Oh Oh she's off of her rocker
I want to marry my stalker
Sometimes she says she's my mom
Looks like she doesn't belong
She's my own peeping tom
Flowers every day
The cops they tell her to stay 500 feet away
She's sleeping on my doorstep
She hasn' t hurt me yet
This morning she wasn't there
I hope that she still cares
I almost gave up hope
But today I awoke to a private note
She says she's going to jail for going through my mail
But she'll stay on my trail

See how bored I am?...
Congratulations June, you are...
Scarlett Ting of joewei.blogspot.com
You are independent, smart and beautiful. Its too bad you don't see that yourself because life's little difficulties brought down a lot of your self confidence. As a result, you talk cryptic and you don't trust people easily. You care a lot for your friends and your loved ones, sometimes even more than you care for yourself, although they don't always seem to appreciate it. Don't let that affect you. As the saying goes, you don't miss the water till the well runs dry. So hang in there, you're a star in the making.

It's amazing how you can continue ranting even when I don't respond.
Has it ever occurred to you that I might be sleeping? And I'll find 12 of your freaking messages on my phone when I wake up in the morning?
Has it ever occurred to you that there might be a reason why I don't respond?
Has it ever occurred to you that I really DON'T care about whether your friends think that you're really talented and have "looks that kill"? You definitely killed me with that comment! I almost died laughing!
Has it ever occurred to you that you're actually living in a bubble? In your own little world?
You know who your real best friend is? Not me.
You are your own best friend. Because everything revolves around you.
Take care. I'm really not looking forward to your return.
Your dumping ground,
June
P/S: FYI, one doesn't have to join Mediacorp just 'coz he/she studied Mass Comm. Get that in your dense lil head, baby.

AARRGGHH!!!!!!! He is absolutely driving me crazy!
Fren frm Myanmar came down yest.. actually he's not really a fren fren.. just a fren.. not the same status as Joey or Terence.. Name's Nyun Tun..
He just dropped the bomb on me saying that he's coming down on Wed and asked me 2 go pick him up at the airport.. so free ah..
actually he's been whining abt coming down to Sg to look for work.. but always complaining that he has no money..
dunno how he got money for visa and an air ticket to come here in the end..
anyway.. he's always asking me questions abt Christianity and abt Jesus.. BUT his English is terrible.. so i dunno what he's talking abt 1/2 the time..
Already told him 2 ask the teachers at VCF (the church we attended when we were in Yangon).. coz they speak Burmese rite?.. but nnooo... he has 2 ask me ALL the time and he doesn't phrase the questions properly...
Basically.. Christianity is very simple rite..
1) God created the world.
2) Adam and Eve fell into sin
3) Sin impedes relationship with God
4) God loves the world so much He sent His Son Jesus to die for our sins
5) And when we acknowledge that,
6) we live happily ever after!
okie okie...maybe it's a teeny weeny more complex than that.. but that's all he needs 2 know what.. sigh..
This guy is PERSISTENT!!! he started calling ard 8 last nite.. continuously! at 10-sec intervals!! he just doesn't get it when i dun answer his calls!
when he called the 1st time, i picked up and recognized his voice. his background was noisy so he cldn't really hear me. i took the opportunity to put the phone down on him.. subsequently he kept calling and calling and calling and calling!! he just doesn't give up!!!
OH MAN!!!
and he called again this morning at 8am!!!! also at 10-sec intervals!!! i rejected his calls umpteen times!!! and he still doesn't get it!!!
ARGH!!!
Was worried that he didn't hv a place 2 stay.. but he's NOT gonna stay at my place..
i mean.. no one's gonna be so stupid as to bk a ticket and come here w/o making arrangements for accommodation and all that rite? Sigh.. he can't expect to stay at my place when he just dropped the bombshell on me 2 days b4 he's due 2 arrive!!
He has my address (hv been writing letters.. he better not come look 4 me.. he'll totally get it frm my parents.. hahahahahahahaha..
I noe they took care of us when we were in Yangon and all.. but he's just super annoying!! his voice is so nasal and annoying.. he's just... ANNOYING!!
I mean.. if Joey or Terence or Bhai were 2 come down, i'll gladly bring them ard and all.. but this one.. NO WAY HOSAY!
Very mean hor?
aiyah.. dunno lah.. he annoying...

Talk is cheap. Actions are more important. If you really experienced God just like you say so in your emails, show it through your actions. Your text messages to me sure don't correspond to what you write in your emails. DO NOT be distracted by the security that Men can give you.
I really don't like the way you treat me like a dumping ground. Regardless of whether I'm sleeping or unwell when you call, you just want to enter, tell me what you want to tell me (which can be summed up in 1 word - Guys), and then exit.
You have absolutely NO right to insult my friends.
I hate the way you collect guys like trophies. Maybe coz of your insecurity. I don't know. But please don't use this as an excuse to flirt.
WAKE UP PLEASE!
Your tired friend,
June
We could only name maybe 3 Christians and 2 Catholics..
Wanted to start a cell in the office but don't know how to go about doing it..
1 question popped to mind..
You know all these non-Christians who have names which appear in the bible - like David, Paul, Ruth, Esther, etc.. Do they really know what their names mean and how these people have been used by God in mighty ways?
Just a thot... =)

seriously, it can b such a hassle.. =P
Anyway..
Update
1) After 4 long months of job-hunting, i finally landed a temp admin asst job at Starhub..
2) I juz got rejected by Singapore Prisons (again!), S'pore National Eye Center (for a temp call centre position!?!), Heartware Network (boy, was the guy hard on me during the interview!), and a whole load of companies who did bother 2 send me rejection letters!
3) Annoying fren still managed 2 annoy me eventho she's miles away frm S'pore!! ARGH!!! I'm going CRAZY!!!!!!!!!
But Daddy God reminded me of the passage in 1 Corin 13.. the passage on love.. sigh.. it's really tough being patient and kind and slow 2 anger when one is dealing with a fren such as THIS!
4) Mum gave me $$ 2 buy new clothes 4 wk! =) Eventho i'm only a temp, i gotta wear work clothes frm Mon - Thu, and casual wear on Fri...
5) Think my cell boys r testing my patience 2.. =P Makes me think twice abt hving kids..exp sons.. my gals r fine.. but my boys r so hyper! i noe it's typical of kids their age but hving co-led an older gals' cell, it needs getting used 2 leading a younger mixed cell.. Sigh..
Pls pray 4 divine guidance.. =)
But all in all, I wanna thank Dad 4 being so faithful.. even in times when i dun do my QT, He still yearns 2 speak 2 me.. and so 4 giving me this job.. at least i dun hv stay at hm n feel really useless.. coz now i can feel useless at the office.. =P
oh!
6) Cute guy in the office.. but think he's married coz he's got a print out pinned at his cubicle tt says " Happy Father's Day".. And guess wat.. he's Myanmar! Juz saw his name on the nameplate at his cubicle and realized tt he has a Myanmar name! hah..
Okie.. better end here.. not 2 sure how many of my frens still read this blog.. heh... but anyway.. yah.. not much 2 do at wk mah.. so blog lor.. =)

The word's out! i'm officially old and wrinkled and i just bought my 1st anti-wrinkle eye-cream..
i noticed that there were wrinkles at the corner of my eyes when i smile. and dark eye-rings and eye-bags 2.. so i thot i shld do smthg abt it...and..
I, JUNE WONG YUEN PENG, AT THE RIPE OLD AGE OF 24, HAVE SUCCUMBED TO SUCH ARTIFICIAL MEANS OF REGAINING YOUTHFULNESS.
i can't believe that i've resorted to buying anti-wrinkle creams! i've always been cynical and deemed peeps who buy them as pathetic. but i've been reduced 2 buying them 4 my own use! i've always thot i'll age gracefully... i guess i gave in to the ways to the world and society's perception of beauty...
On the other hand, my application 4 position of HASE (Home Affairs Senior Exeutive) fell thru... juz got my 1st rejection... they wanted 2 c my documents and certs, so i sent them.. they called last Fri 2 ask wat i majored in uni...told them i did econs and soci..
But they actually hv only openings 4 counsellors and need peeps who did social work or psych.. sigh...
I was pretty +ve that God was pointing me 2 the prisons...i mean he sent contacts like Uncle tok Khiew, Rev Timothy Khoo, Leticia (SAC)... when pastor ian read frm Matt 25:35-36 on Sun, God spoke thru the last part of verse 36 - " I was in prison and you came to visit me".. nv knew this was part of the verse...
So am pretty confused.. i mean.. i hv 2 options if God is really leading me 2 work in the prisons..
1) work in S'pore prisons as admin staff or smthg and take counseling courses coz tt's ultimately wat i wanna do.. (auntie alice told me she knew a lady who's doing exactly the same thing..)
2) find a job which has nothing 2 do with prisons or prison ministry..and do volunteer work in the prisons.. (Leticia told me tt it can b quite a stressful place 2 minsiter in so suggest tt i volunteer 1st and c how it suits me..)
Argh!! confused!!! gotta pray pray pray!!!

God is going to do amazing things in the land of Cambodia! He's sending so many teams 2 pray 4 the ctry, 2 serve the pple there, 2 b witnesses 4 Him and 2 bring His light!
My church is gonna send a team of 3 junior church kids and abt 4 youths 2 Phnom Penh in Dec.. Tee frm YWAM is leading a team 2 Cambodia 2! Clayton, a guy frm Dallas, is going on a 2-week trip 2 Phnom Penh as well (leaving tmr)! God is truly sending His pple 2 pray and break down the wall and strongholds in Cambodia!
I'll continue 2 pray 4 this land...4 God 2 release the pple frm fear, bitterness and anger (consequences of the Khmer Rouge).. 4 God's light 2 shine in this land of darkness..4 God 2 raise up a gd govt..a Godly govt..
Pray alongside me yah?

Met my DTS school leader, Lynn, yest 4 coffee.. Talked a bit abt wat we've been up 2..and then she popped the qn...
She asked whether i wanna pray abt being a voluntary DTS staff 4 the next GenX DTS...it's only gonna b for tt 5 1/2 mths of DTS..not really gonna b a YWAM staff as per say.. =)
This thot has actually crossed my mind during the sch...coz a few of my classmates were actually thinking of joining YWAM as full-time unpaid staff... Was a horrifying idea 4 me... was praying so hard tt God will not call me 2 full-time @ YWAM..
And when Lynn told me tt she has smthg 2 ask me.. i sorta knew she ws gonna ask abt being on satff 4 the next DTS..
I mean..it's another option...
Not really keen abt it tho...i mean..i am keen 2 meet new interesting peeps and make a diffce in their lives...
BUT...despite tasting His goodness and providence...i'm still not v sure i hv the faith 2 look 2 Dad alone 4 $$... unless the church continues 2 give me an allowance...
AND...my mummy wldn't b 2 happie abt it... she's been bugging me since i finished my DTS 2 go find a 'proper' job after my stint in church..and if i were 2 tell her i'll b joining YWAM as DTS staff 4 the 6 mths, she'll juz flip!! which also means i'll delay another 6 mths of payment 2 my dad's CPF (wh he used 2 pay my NUS sch fees)...
on the other hand...this might open my parents' eyes 2 the Almighty God's power 2 provide 4 His children... and also open their hearts 2 Him..
They hv already seen His providence when He provided the $2500 for my outreach 2 Cambodia and Myanmar.. and when He so sweetly gave me $200 2 mths ago...outta nowhere.. =) this might b an avenue 4 Dad 2 glorify Himself...and 4 my parents 2 BE SAVED!!!!! Hallejuah!
Nevertheless..i'll still hv 2 pray abt it and c wat Dad says... =) Pray with me yah?

Jason Wong, CEO of SCORE, came to speak at the staff devotion regarding his work in the prison minstry and about the Yellow Ribbon Project. This was about 2 months ago. Coincidently, my friend told me about a job opening in the prison about just the day before James Wong's sharing. After watching a video on an event SCORE organized - a reunion between the ladies in the Women's Prison and their children, I was moved and I want to be part of this. My interest in the prison ministry developed from there. I asked God to show me whether this was His will for me.
At the PCC/SM retreat at Salvation Army last month, I was introduced to Uncle Tok Khiew, a member of the PCC in our church, who's involved in the Prison Fellowship in S'pore.
Just last week, I met Timothy Khoo at a seminar and he's part of Prison Fellowship International and was stationed in New York for 4 years.
God has been bringing contacts to me. But I'm still confused because people tend to be more sensitive to things that interest them..you know what I mean? Like we look out for things that we're interested in. Aiyah.. I hope you guys know what I'm blabbering about.. =) Yah..so I don't know whether this is divine or whether I'm just being over-sensitive. My heart is for the women prisoners.
Come to think of it, it'll be better for me to work with younger offenders because it'll be quite wierd for the older ones to talk to me about their kids and all..and not being a mother myself, I wouldn't fully understand them anyway. And it'll be quite wierd for me to counsel them since they're probably older than me.
So I'm quite confused. I want to join Prison Fellowship International and be posted overseas.. =) but they're not employing. My stint in church is going to end in December. Really want to do full-time but sense that He wants me to go take a look at the 'real' world first.
Heh.. So do keep me in prayer. =) Please feel free to come to me if God is saying something to you, just in case I'm too dense to hear Him properly. Thanks for your patience! =)
Story I
i had my 1st real jehovah-jireh experience,YWAM-style! u noe how YWAMers always hv brilliant stories abt howGod provides 4 them..how money seems 2 come frm nowhere... well i had an experience like tt 2... =)
went back 2 the office on 27/07...barely sat down whena pastor handed me an envelope with my name written onit (duh!)... opened it up and found a hand-made cardand written inside it was "june...matt 6:33" and 2pieces of $100 dollar notes! Daddy God was so sweet!this happened juz after the thingy i went thru with mymum.. in summary, she was bugging me 2 give up wat i'm doingin church and get a "real" job... and i gotta put $$back in2 my dad's CPF account which he used 2 pay my uni sch fees...was quite broke as well coz my allowance came really late...and God surprised me with this extra sum of money...=)
Story II
I had the intention of getting a USB thumb-drive coz my home PC is giving me problems and is going to crash on me sooner or later. I want to back-up my files on the thumb-drive. So I asked P. Ian how much one cost. He told me ard $60-$80. I wasn't ready to part with this sum of money so I left it at that. Then one day someone blessed P. Ian with a thumb-drive. He told the other party that he doesn't need it but knows someone who does and gave it to me. This was how God blessed me with something I want..though I didn't ask Him for it. Guess He overheard our conversation and being the sweet gentleman that He is, decided to bless His daughter. =)
God is truly faithful even in times that we're not. =)

"Tomorrow morning," the surgeon began, "I'll open up your heart..."
"You'll find Jesus there," the boy interrupted. The surgeon looked up, annoyed "I'll> cut your heart open," he continued, to see how much damage has been done..."
"But when you open up my heart, you'll> find Jesus in there," said the boy. The surgeon looked to the parents, who sat quietly. "When I see how much damage has been done, I'll sew your heart and chest back up, and I'll plan what to do next."
"But you'll find Jesus in my heart. The Bible says He lives there. The hymns all say He lives there. You'll find Him in my heart." The surgeon had had enough. "I'll tell you what I'll find in your heart. I'll find damaged muscle, low blood supply, and weakened vessels. And I'll find out if I can make you well."
"You'll find Jesus there too. He lives there." The surgeon left. The surgeon sat in his office, recording his notes from the surgery, "...damaged aorta, damaged pulmonary vein, widespread muscledegeneration. No hope for transplant, no hope for cure. Therapy: painkillers and bed rest. Prognosis:, " here he paused, "death within one year."
He stopped the recorder, but there was more to be said. "Why?" he asked aloud. "Why did You do this? You've put him here; You've put him in this pain; and You've cursed him to an early death. Why?"
The Lord answered and said, "The boy, My lamb, was not meant for your flock for long, for he is a part of My flock, and will forever be. Here, in My flock, he will feel no pain, and will be comforted as you cannot imagine. His parents will one day join him here, and they will know peace, and My flock will continue to grow."
The surgeon's tears were hot, but his anger was hotter. "You created that boy, and You created that heart. He'll be dead in months. Why?"
The Lord answered, "The boy, My lamb, shall return to My flock, for He has done his duty: I did not put My lamb with your flock to lose him, but to retrieve another lost lamb."
The surgeon wept. The surgeon sat beside the boy's bed; the boy's parents sat across from him. The boyawoke and whispered, "Did you cut open my heart?"
"Yes," said the surgeon. "What did you find?" asked the boy.
"I found Jesus there," said the surgeon.

Received word frm my sec. sch fren lost her lil bro last Sun... to what i dun noe... guess she was 2 tired to explain.. gonna go 4 the wake later with 3 other frens.. to offer support and 2 pay respect 2 her bro.. dun remember much of him coz didn't get 2 c him much...
may sound very mean and uncaring but i really dun remember her hving a bro at all... sigh... i'm such a great fren huh?...
Carole reminded me that it's the 2nd wake i've been 2 the past 2 months.. the first was the death of my DTS classmate, Anil...he passed away 2 months ago of epileptic (is that how u spell it?) fit at the age of 30 in Bangalore... He was gonna join YWAM Bangalore as staff and open a cafe, ministering to kids aged 16 - 28.. He changed so much in the 5 months we noe him.. he came as an ex-druggie with no purpose in his life..and became a man after God's own heart in 5 months.. we thank Daddy for His patience and faithfulness of transforming him into the man of God that He wants Anil 2 b b4 taking him back hm...
Check out the website we put up in memory of him.. http://www.3peeps.com/tribute4anil/
The 2nd one is this... think it's Daphne's younger bro... heard frm another fren of ours that he was sick for abt a yr..then Daphne told her he was okie..
Reminds me that life can b so fragile... Daddy is the One who give life...but He's also the One who can take us back anytime He deems fit...
On the other hand...i'm also mourning the loss of my molar... yes..my tooth...
extracted it on Sun coz it was causing me so much pain... the long and short of the story is that my wisdom tooth was crooked..hence it was pushing against the filling of my molar..which was pushing on the nerve of my molar... yup.. so i got rid of my molar..
next 2 go: my horrible wisdom tooth..
okie lah...mouth's feeling a bit sore...
well..at least i dun hv 2 eat porridge while the peeps ard me r feasting on ha jiong gai (prawn-paste chicken) and fried hokkien mee.. =P

Back!!
Aiyoh..sorrie...hv been 2 lazy 2 update my blog... wonder if anyone is still reading it.. hee..
Got comments from peeps like Carole and Shaun tt i've been MIA for 2 long.. =P
Alritey...i'm bck with a vengence! how long this will last b4 i procrastinate and get 2 lazy / busy 2 blog..i really dun noe..
Anyways..4 those of u who dun noe.. i was in Cambodia from 19th Apr to 5th May and Myanmar from 5th May to 31st May.. =) Graduated from DTS on 18th June and have been back 2 work in church since the beginning of July.. =)
Got pics...check them out at http://juniejune.multiply.com
Will try 2 upload more when i've got time..hehe...
These 2 weeks hv been a roller-coaster 4 me...
Think it was stress from the H.U.M. (Humility, Unity, Missions) event in church... it's a 3-day event that encourages peeps to take leave frm work or sch and set aside time frm our busy schedules to seek God and hear Him.. i was the stage manager and gotta run the show the 1st day...didn't noe wat i was supposed to do... Thank God Hsia Ling came down 2 help me the next 2 days... whew!
Felt that i've got no time 4 myself...coz i've got work frm Tue to Sun...weekends r spent in church coz i work on Sat, then go 4 cell and then service, and then dinner with cell.. Sun is spent in church as well with youth service and then cluster and youth cell... Mon's my off day..so it's usually spent catching up with frens...
Emotionally also a bit crazy...can go ask Moo abt it... he has been listening to me whine and complain and get hysterical over the smallest things these past 2 weeks... i've been complaining about my parents, esp my mum..and abt how i feel totally ugly and fat (not that i'm not...but hv been particularly critical of my appearance)...
Dun think it's the stress frm work... Moo thinks it's a snowball effect.. coz i tend 2 suppress a lot of things and it accumulates and i explode.. it's triggered by smthg else but think the root cause is the pressure frm mum 2 get a 'proper' job after my stint in church.. sigh..
it's not normal!! my buttons get pushed so easily nowadays! i burst in tears 4 no apparant reason! thot it was PMS initially...then my period came and went...and i'm still getting these mood swings!
Pls pray 4 me... =)
On a lighter note...
A team frm Uganda's St. Francis Chapel came 4 lead worship 4 the H.U.M. event.. there's Uncle Ben (Canon Ben), his wife Aunty Joy, Lynet (full-time worker and wife of Chris), Chris (businessman and husband of Lynet), Lucy (a DJ at a Christian radio stn in Uganda), Irene (a 4th-yr law student), Thomas (guitarist) , Emmanual (keyboardist), Moses (drummer) and Alan (teacher, bassist and head of music min)....
I had a major major crush on Alan...coz he's so gd-looking!
gtg 4 lunch now..contd later.. =)

Hv been exhausting...my schedules r almost packed frm Mon to Fri...
But it's gd fellowship and the lectures r great! it's amazing how God created the arts so that we can worship and glorufy Him creatively... =)
It's also great 2 noe that God has given us gifts and talents so that we can worship Him uniquely...
Do u noe that Ezekiel did a mime as a form of worship by lying on his side for 390 days? we do hv a biblival history in the arts...
Anyway, i'll b going 2 Cambodia and Myanmar for my outreach! =) Gonna be from 19th Apr to 29th May (19th Apr - 5th May in Cambodia and 5th May - 29th May in Myanmar)... keep me in ur prayers k?
Was afraid that i'll hv problem with my outreach fees coz i dun wanna ask 4 money frm my parents....it'll come up to abt $2500...
But God reassured me during my QT 1 day when i was reading John 5..i think...when Jesus was feeding the 5000....read my study bible and it said that this shows how God is the supplier of ALL human needs... God is showing me that He is my Provider and when He called me 2 go 2 Cambodia and Myanmar, He will supply my needs.... =)
Did i mention that i'm so in love with God? =)
He told me He loves me during a nite worship session when Tamara Winslow, a prophetic speaker, was leading worship...
Bliss!!!

Sorrie...hv been MIA 4 so long...coz i hvn't had time 2 update the blog...and i'm 2 lazy 2 do it...heh...
DTS has been gd!! making new frens...new roomies...great food (heh!)....learning so much abt God and who he is... =)
My spiritual life has been a roller-coaster...
I was really on fire when i 1st started Tribute...then the fire waned...then got revived during the mission trip 2 Laos... the fire kept on burning till after church camp....then it waned again...
So now i'm actually picking up the pieces and starting anew with God...building my relationship with God from scratch again...
And God has bben really gd! altho i'm pretty stressed up trying 2 hear Him coz the more holy-moley pple ard cld hear Him so clearly...and i get so anxious that i can't hear Him properly...and then i get more anxious trying so hard 2 hear Him...
But God has been so patient...think He had been speaking thru the speakers...
Rich Hodge, the 1st speaker 4 the Father Heart of God prophesied that i hv a healing and compassionate heart and that God is gonna put me in a motherly ministry...
Rob Francis, who spoke on the Cat and Dog Theology said that i'll b a gd mobiliser 4 missions (u noe the 4 roles of a world christian - sender, mobiliser, goer, welcomer)...
Now we gotta pray 4 our outreach destinations...3 teams...
1) China
2) Cambodia and Myanmar
3) Myanmar and North-East India
As most of u wld noe i wanna go 2 Cambodia....but if God has other plans then i'll go 2 which ever place He wants me 2....
Keep me in ur prayers k? Pray that God's desires will b my desires...pray that i'll not force my own ideas upon God...that i'll b patient and obey His commands... =)
Also pray that i'll b open 2 Him...that i'll not get distracted....
Thank God i hv pretty neat roomies..heh... =)
If u wanna noe more abt wat we hv learnt in our lectures check out sandy's blog...i've linked her...she's my roomie..born in HK and hv been living in Houston, Taxas for 10 yrs...
Thnx thnx!!
God bless everybody! and Happie belated Valentine's Day!!

Guess wat....3 of the guys r already married and 2 of whom r fathers-to-be... 1 of the gals registered her marriage this afternoon and is holding her customary wedding at the end of this yr....
woah! i was blown away when they told me... these pple were in sch with me and now they've already started their own families...
It's a scary thot....i mean we're still so young....well...maybe not SO young...considering we're soon-to-be 1/4 of a century old...
Anyway...we're 2 young 2 hv 2 b tied down -
i) hving 2 look and clean up after another person
ii) hving 2 b accountable 2 someone else
iii) hving 2 wake up in the middle of the nite 2 feed ur baby
iv) hving 2 answer 2 his parents other than ur own
v) hving 2 face the same person every single day 4 the rest of ur life
vi) hving 2 give out angpows i/o receiving them
.
.
.
.
.
Yes yes...i noe how i whine abt wanting 2 walk down the aisle and hv lotsa kids....but there r a lot of considerations 2 be made b4 taking tt step...
And there're so many things i wanna do and see b4 i settle down...
Y do i sound like i'm getting married tmr??
sorrie...juz a bit overwhelmed and stressed by the news tt my peers r getting married at the brilliant age of 24... hv been feeling like tt since Sat... i feel like i'm missing out and hv started questioning myself abt wat i'm doing in my life... at the same time i feel tt i've got so many things i wanna do and so little time 2 do them....of coz i wanna get married and hv my own family 1 day...preferably b4 i hit 30...but not now...even if i'm turning 24 and i've got 6 yrs 2 do all the things i wanna do and see the things i wanna see b4 i commit 2 living with another person 4 the rest of my life and raising my own kids...
Oh well....su lene has given me advice b4 i go in2 DTS - "go get 1"... and apparently i gotta fight with 11 other gals over the 4 pathetic guys in my sch...
how unfortunate....
Attention!! i'm gonna finally start DTS this thur (29th Jan)...pls pary 4 me... hee... =)
1) tt i'll truly die 2 self
2) tt i'll b transformed in2 the woman tt God wants me 2 b
3) tt ill b able 2 get along with my sch mates
4) tt i'll hv enuf $$ 4 my outreach
thnx thnx!
Happie Lunar New Yr 2 everybody!! hope the angpow collection has been gd! =)

Babie's laughter: Warm, kind and loving; a baby's
laugh represents you. You are very innocent and
enjoy the simple things in life. You are
probably very good with children and have a
positive, happy soul. (please rate my quiz)
What Sound Are You?(now w/ pics)

Met Jas 4 a late lunch @ Ikea...and then 2 town with 2 meet Jud and Luisa....Luisa had already left when we got there...went 4 coffee with Jud and Jas...and then 2 JL 2 look 4 bras...heh...
Cleaned my wound after my shower....was stinging and throbbing.... but wat 2 do..will do it religiously so tt it'll heal by CNY...hehe...
Planning 2 go 4 manicure and pedicure with Jud and Luisa next Mon @ Nail Girl... =) Happie happie!
Oh! did i mention the clutch tt Female mag and Nuyou r giving out is HIDEOUS?
No biggie lah...juz plain ol' clumsy me...
Was alighting frm the bus on Sat...then i tripped (i think...) and fell on the kerb...and had a pretty deep cut beneath my big toe, a cut on my foot and grazed my knee slightly.... was bleeding pretty badly... Juz wanted 2 get hm ASAP - coz i wanted 2 clean my wound and wash my slipper and it was totally embarassing lah!! Falling flat on my face in front of a bus full of pple and not 4getting in front of pple @ the bus stop is not the most glam thing 2 do! plus i was wearing my new skirt which is shorter than usual!
Sigh....and this has 2 happen b4 CNY.....

was gonna wait till my dad comes hm (me parents r away on holiday in Thailand...coming back 2day!! yeah!) and take a look at my toe...but the wound is grey....yes...grey....dun ask me y.... So i'm gonna get Jas 2 accompany me 2 the doc's later...heh...

I'm such a procrastinator!!!
It's only the 10th day of the new year and i'm already worried abt wat God wants me 2 do next yr...coz DTS will start on 29th Jan and finish on 18th June and then i'll b back in church till Dec.... 5 mths of DTS will pass v quickly and time flies when u're wking in church... so i dunno wat i'll do after Tribute is over...
I'm secretly hoping tt the job at SPH is still waiting 4 me after Tribute is over...heh....
Last yr was a really gd yr 4 me...God has brought me thru my 3 yrs of uni, called me 2 serve him for 18 mths after graduation, allowed me 2 get baptized and confirmed, allowed me 2 go 4 my 1st mission trip 2 Laos, had someone spend 2/3 of his iPod fund 2 buy my Xmas pressie... =p
Spent new yr's eve with Moo coz his bday's on new yr's day...watched 2 movies in a row - scary movie 3 and ju-on 2...had coffee and pasta at coffee club b4 the movie and coffee at chatterbox after tt....
Pretty sedate and peaceful...heh....guess we're 2 OLD 2 get hyped up abt new yrs and countdowns... =p someone's finally a quarter of a century old now... heh...
SERVE started on the 2nd....got 2 noe some gals frm COOS and COR... =) they're v funny... =)
Hvn't been talking 2 God and reading His word...hv decided 2 get it rite with Him b4 i go 2 the "nunnery" (DTS lah)...
Hvn't been talking 2 Jas as well...will try 2 spend time with her...maybe i'll meet her on Mon... =)
Okie...this is a summary of wat i can remember frm the last time i blogged... =)

Many hearts are hungry tonight
Many trapped in darkness
Yearn for the light
So many who are far from home
And many who are lost
Oh Lord Your wounded children need
The power of Your cross
Chrous:
As bread that is broken
Use our lives
As wine that is poured out
A willing sacrifice
Empower us Father
To share the love of Christ
As bread that is broken Lord
Use our lives
Help us to begin where we are
Help us love the people
Near to our hearts
Then give our faith a mission field
Wherever You may call
Lord love Your world
Through each of us
Until we've touched them all
Sang this song many times during the camp...really spoke 2 me especially the 2nd verse...
Got reminded abt the Cat and Dog Theology during devotion on the 3rd day... =) Really really wanna be a Dog Christian - 2 glorify God in all I do coz God has blessed us so tt we can b a blessing 2 others...as well as 2 bless God 4 blessing us...
Malachi 3:10 kept coming 2 me during the devotion time...God wants 2 overflow us with His blessings if we allow Him 2...and like the pic P. Ian got during service a particular Sunday....a pic of a test-tube overflowing with water frm a jug....God is the jug and we're the test-tube....He's so BIG and we're so small....and He has blessed us with so much tt His blessings will overflow 2 the pple ard us....
WE ARE BLESSED SO THAT WE CAN BE A BLESSING TO GOD AND TO HIS PEOPLE!

Woah! it had been a really gd trip! God showed His faithfulness and opened our eyes 2 a lot of things...like how we can plan and plan but God has other plans 4 us....watever we hv planned 2 do earlier didn't really wk out lah...heh...
The 1st obstacle came when we almost cldn't bring the carton of multivitamins in2 Thailand....the Thai immigration even got a guy frm the pharmacy 2 check the pills....the only relented when Trish told us 2 show them our Laos visa...
The 12 hr train rides r really smthg....thank God 4 P. Ching Wah and Trish! they managed 2 get the train tix 4 us eventho it was so last min and 5th Dec's actually the Thai King's bday....
anyway....yah....12 hrs on the train is an experience... =)
We did a lot of stuff with the kids there....spent the most time with the kids living near ARDA...played with them...spent some time with the kids @ Khoutsambaht village - teaching them English and crafts...
Feel like ta-pao-ing them back 2 Sg... =) They're so cute and friendly! their smiles...their expectant faces....their innocence... really makes me think how bratty and disgusting Sg kids r....sigh...
Our aim was 2 b a blessing 2 the kids and 2 the pple there....we achieved it and more....
u noe when pple come back frm mission (gotta say fei bi bi in Laos... =p) trips and tell u how they've been more blessed by the pple there than they hv been a blessing?...nv knew wat it meant until i come back frm Laos and tell pple how we've been blessed by the Lao pple.... and how we've been blessed by God...
We're merely vessels 4 God 2 use and He used us 2 show His love 4 His children in Laos....and he has also used them 2 bless us.... we've been so blessed by the villagers at Ban Khoutsambaht (who LUV dancing!!!), by the street kids, by the lovely warm pple in Vientiane...
Am also amazed by how God is truely a God of ALL languages....we saw pple worshipping Him in Lao and Chinese when we attended 2 Lao services and a Chinese cell grp.... mind-blowing!!! we're worshipping and praising and serving the same God at the same time in our own language! Amazing!!
I'm really captured by God's majesty and faithfulness and might....how He can work even in a closed communist ctry like Laos.... =)
We had fun doing wat God has called us 2 do.... =) the weather's great! the pple r great! Love Laos is great! thnx guys 4 making my 1st mission trip such a memorable one! thnx 4 all the bridge and tai ti sessions...haha....
Thnx! -
Thammy (our ever diplomatic father-figure and photographer...heh)
Vic (our tax-collector mummy who pays 4 all our meals and ice-cream and peanuts and mineral water and...okie...u get the pt... =))
Jim Jim(our Monkey-Man-of-Faith and International Man of Irrelavance)
Josh (Joshie baby, inventor of early pearly, easy peasy and winner of the Limahdah game!)
Gracie (our 1st-aider whom all 3 guys wanna bring if they were 2 b on a deserted island....and the only person who can say khor toad and fei bi bi gently...)
Anne Anne (who had an encounter with God during this trip and a great fren 4 crapping sessions at the back of the truck... =) along with Gracie of coz)
Rachel and Evelyn (4 the baby-wipes...which we were so dependent on!)
And all who prayed and supported us in 1 way or another... =)
For more info...juz check out Jimmy's blog! =)
Am glad 2 b back....but wld luv 2 go back there again....
Next missions destination...hopefully 2 CAMBODIA!

Hvn't updated in a while....hv been bz bz bz with mission prep and training... =)
Went to the Red Cross Home for the Intellectually Disabled last week... was really apprehensive before we went there.... i'm actually pretty scared of pple who r intellectually disabled coz i felt that they won't be able to control their actions...so they'll drool and stuff...and they'll smell bad... or u dunno wat they'll do 2 u.... Was jus praying 4 od 2 gimme His heart of compassion and love 4 His pple...
When we got there i didn't noe how 2 act ard them....my heart was thumping... i didn't wanna seem like i was treating them as exhibits...so i plastered a big smile on my face and went ard...tried 2 talk 2 them... some of them didn't or cldn't respond.... i didn't noe wat 2 do...so i juz kept smiling.... =)
Most of the gals stayed at the 3rd floor coz that's where the female residents r...talked 2 some of them.....it wasn't ez....but it was gd experience... =)
i ended up in the activity rm (where they undergo physio therapy)...spent 1/2 the time there...hee....think it was escapism...but i tried 2 talk 2 the residents who were there... managed 2 speak 2 the therapist there as well...
Really felt tt my heart's so small u noe....juz wished my heart's bigger...so tt i can give more love 2 the residents...
I actually felt a burden in my heart...had the intention 2 go back 2 do volunteer work...or visit them once a week or smthg...
My Love Laos team (Tham - our leader, Vic - our money person, Jim Jim - the monkey man, Anne, Grace, Joshua and moi) spent quite a bit of time bonding over food...heh... we're so slack u noe! we'll take breaks every 15 mins! haha!
Anyway we'll b leaving on Fri (5th Dec) 4 Laos...do keep us in ur prayers k? Pray tt we'll keep our focus on God, tt we'll learn 2 love one another with God's love, 2 love the Laotians as well... Basically Laos is a closed ctry so we can't proclaim our faith or evangelize in public...so we'll do it thru our actions! =) Really looking 4ward 2 the trip!
We'll b back on 13th Dec!!
